“Our adequacy is from God, who also made us adequate as servants of a new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life”
2 Corinthians 3:5-6
The only way you and I are able to become the blessed “new creature” that the apostle Paul wrote of in 2 Corinthians 5:17, is through the “new covenant” that Paul first wrote of in 2 Corinthians 3:6.
Because of “the new covenant in My blood,” that our Savior spoke of in Luke 22:20, you and I are most wonderfully blessed to be new creations under His New Covenant. It is also as Jesus said when He spoke, “new wine must be put into fresh wineskins” (Luke 5:38).
When the kindness of God led us to repentance (Romans 2:4) and we forsook sin “to obey Jesus Christ and be sprinkled with His blood” (1st Peter 1:2), at that moment we were born again, becoming a new creation through a New Covenant, made possible specifically through the “new covenant in My blood” that our Savior shed at Calvary.
See the great price paid, and the great New Covenant made, in the precious blood of our Savior.
I entreat you to come all the way in, to your true Christian biblical faith, by being a knowledgeable, grateful, and joyful new creation in God’s New Covenant, because this is where the life is! Yes receive this new wine in the new wineskin.
“The letter kills” – that’s the old covenant. “But the Spirit gives life” – this is the New Covenant.
The New Covenant is Christ-centered and full of life. The old covenant is law-set-on-stone centered and kills.
Jesus fulfilled all of the requirements of the old covenant and shed His New Covenant blood, in order that He would save us and give us new life in His new covenant.
Today, beloved child of God, live in your new life as a new creation in a New Covenant with your risen and indwelling Savior, Jesus Christ. Hallelujah!
