Being Near To God And Eating The Most Holy Things

“The priests who are near to the Lord shall eat the most holy things”
Ezekiel 42:13

This is one of the best blessings God gives us through our practice of “ministering to the Lord” (Acts 13:2). When we accept into our own lives in Christ that “He has made us to be a kingdom, priests to His God and Father” (Revelation 1:6), and we enter into our priesthood before our Lord, this is when we begin to realize that “the priests who are near the Lord shall eat the most holy things.”

Our priesthood is a divine gift, a divine identity, and it is the will of God our Father, that we accept this mantle of our priesthood and draw nearer still to God, into the inner court before Him as a priest in His presence. And it is within the inner court, where, alone with Jesus, you clearly see that you have become the priest who is “near to the Lord” and now, as a result of this, you are privileged to “eat the most holy things.”

There is no leaven in the living bread of God as we minister to the Lord as priests in His presence.

Our priesthood is all about our Lord, Who He is and What He has done for us and, as God’s “royal priesthood” (1st Peter 2:9), we give our God the glory that is due to Him from all of His people.

The priests of His presence set an example of the standard of fellowship God desires all Christians to experience in Him, as His kingdom of priests, so we may all be “near” to Him and knowingly be blessed to “eat the most holy things.”

The most holy thing for me is Jesus, Himself. He is my bread of life.

Ministering in His presence is where I am most aware of eating His flesh and drinking His blood, truly “the most holy things,”receiving my daily bread, the bread of His presence, and experiencing the bubbling up of the river of living water within me.

This all happens simultaneously as we, by His amazing grace, become “the priests who are near the Lord.”

Beloved child of God, minister as a priest unto your Lord in His presence each day and see for yourself the higher quality of life and the intimacy experienced in Jesus Christ as you are rewarded to “eat the most holy things” in His presence. Thank You Lord! Hallelujah!
